Crude ash by gravimetry

Crude ash of rice plant material is determined by gravimetry. An amount of the sample is weighed in a crucible and ignited at high temperature, 490 °C to remove organic matter. The remaining inorganic oxides are weighed as crude ash.

Note: To determine crude ash, the sample weight required is at least 4 g of plant sample.
